A Blog is Born

Well.... here I am in blog land. I've been reading blogs for awhile now. I'll link to some of my favorites soon, I'm still figuring out how to navigate blogger. I've only ever lurked, so no one really knows me... but I feel like I know some of the people who I hope will read my blog.

My name, well at least my name here, is Bekah. I've spent a lot of time hoping and dreaming that I would find a man, a good man, a dominant man, a man with the potential to be my forever... who I could submit to. While I was hoping and dreaming, I read other people's blogs and wondered if I would ever have one myself.

Well... now I've met this guy. I asked him what he wanted his name to be on here.. he was nicknamed 'the bishop' one time and he said to use that. So my Sir.. is the bishop.. I'll probably just refer to him as 'B' for the most part.  He's good.. kind.. protective.. in the right age range.. handsome.. settled.. a real grown up.. works hard... and dominant... very dominant. Oh and did i mention that he lives about 9 hours from me... that's making things challenging. I never expected to do the long distance thing, but he sort of wandered into my life and now I'm all tangled up in him. Don't tell him I said this.. but I think he might be my forever... we'll see I suppose.  In the meantime.. we're figuring this thing out.. day by day. Some days are easier than others. Long distance is tough and neither of us have done it before. But we're determined to figure it out, so I know we will.

So why the blog you ask??? Well, a couple reasons I suppose. First, I have friends I can talk to about being in a relationship, but no one I can talk to about being submissive. I've seen the support that submissive women offer each other in blog land and I'm hoping to find my way into that club. I'm very new to this and I know I could use all the advice/wisdom/encouragement I can get. Second, I'm sure there are people out there who have done the Dominant/submissive thing long distance and I am hoping to find a few of them and pick their brains to see if some things that worked for them might work for us. Third, it gives me a place to put the angsty feelings that come from being a new submissive and being a long distance submissive, without dumping them on him... I think that will be helpful to us.. I'm pretty sure he thinks so too.

I think that's it for now.. I just wanted to peak my head out and say hello. I'll be back soon, I'm sure.

Until then...
His devoted one

  1. Hi Bekah!
We did long distance for years before we got married and it was so hard. In some ways though I think it was good b/c we had to figure out if we were really right for each other and if you can make it through long distance and not give up, for us it was a good sign that we really were going to last.

Your way of just leaving comments on the blogs that you have frequented is perfect. That is how I did it too. It makes it less overwhelming as one by one people find you here.

I hope you enjoy the writing process and you can be sure that you'll make some neat connections here that will help. I totally understand not having friends who you can talk to about "this" part of relationship. It is what we do for each other here!

    Welcome Bekah.

  2. So proud of my devoted one! thank you Susie for your encouragement to us. It has been an interesting road to walk thus far, this being the long distance. I do have all faith that it will work out. I have considered starting a blog myself, but still thinking about it.

  3. Hey there Bekah. Welcome to blogland! I look forward to reading more of your story. Your friend Susie told me about your blog. I'm in a long-distance relationship as well. About a year ago my fiancé Cael and I had to start because I got a job 6 hours away from him and I had to take it. It's had its ups and downs for sure but I can talk to you about both if you ever want to just talk. I know how hard it can be but then also there are nicer parts. We cherish every second together. Everything is so romantic because seeing one another is a special occasion. So the good news is things can definitely progress even over distance.

I think you two can definitely make it work despite it not being an ideal situation. I'm here if you need to vent or ask about anything -- my email is on my blog. Feel free to reach out if you want :)

  4. We did long distance. The kind that required a trip over an ocean to see each other.

9 hours is a lovely road trip that we do for 3-day weekends quite frequently. OR you could meet in the middle! You'll get there as long as you both want to. :)

    1. Hey Conina,

I'm glad you're here!!! and thanks for commenting!! Nine hours isn't terrible, I think it's more that neither one of us thought we would ever do something this long distance . . . so we're trying to figure it out together. But what I keep reminding myself is that if it's meant to be then we'll figure it out.
